Overview

The European Grand Prix is usually held in a country that also holds a national Grand Prix in that same year. The first race to recieve the title of European Grand Prix was in 1923 the Italian Grand Prix, at Monza. Several Other countries have held the title including the French Grand Prix and Belgian Grand Prix. The British Grand Prix was the last race to receive the title in 1977. Since its reintroduction in 1983 to fill a gap in the calendar, has been held regularly since 1999.

The European Grand Prix has taken place in Valencia, Spain since 2008 and will remain on the Formula One Calendar until 2014.
