Description :

Run every few years, the Historic Grand Prix brings the glorious old classic racing cars back to Monaco. On the same circuit as the Grand Prix, these beautiful older cars compete with each other at high speeds. The first Grand Prix of this kind was inaugurated in 1997 in honor of the 700-year anniversary of the Grimaldi reign. It proved such a success that they have brought it back for the year 2000. In 1997 Bugattis were flying around the course, and old model Ferraris competed with each other in their class. Because no seat belts were used in antique car racing models, one driver was thrown out of his car on a tight turn. Luckily he was not injured. For more information and the exact date one week before the regular Grand Prix, contact the Monaco Automobile Club at Tel: 9315-2600 or Fax 9325-8008.
