Description :

The Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters - replaces the former Monte Carlo Tennis Open. It is always held in the third week in April on the clay courts of the Monte Carlo Country Club. This is one of the most beautiful clubs in the world perched high above the glittering Mediterranean Sea. In this intimate setting you can rub shoulders with some of the best players in tennis. Reserve a table for lunch on the terrace where you might find yourself sitting next to any number of celebrities who happen to be in the vicinity.

Conveniently the ATP Tour (Professional Men's Tennis Circuit) European headquarters is located in Monte Carlo. During the fall of each year they hold an ATP Tour University for all the new and up and coming young players. The University's focus is on training the players in media and communication skills, tennis history, correct court behavior, tennis rules and financial management of their winnings. Just about any time during the year, when they are between tournaments, you can catch some top men's players at the tennis club. (Many of them live in Monaco).

ATP Masters Series are being held every year in nine cities around the world. The Monte Carlo Masters is the third tennis tournament in this series. The first Masters Series Monte Carlo was held in 1897, but it wasn't until 1969 that the tournament allowed professional tennis players to compete in it. This switch to professional tennis has resulted in a huge upsurge in the popularity of the Monte Carlo Masters.

The Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters tennis tournament is the first out of three Masters Series that are held on clay courts. If you decide to get tickets to the The Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters tournament, you will soon find yourself in the ‘Hollywood' of Europe.
